GPID is divided into 5 divisions. Each director serves a 3-year term. Elections are by mail-in ballot and are held on the 2nd Tuesday in November.
Division #1: Nancy Tappan, Rogue River, Oregon
Occupation: Farms over 35 acres in Jackson County including a grape vineyard.
Chairperson: Public Relations Committee.
Appointed to the Board of Directors in April 1995 to complete the term ending 12/31/1997. Unsuccessful in the election in 1997. Appointed again in August, 2001 to complete the term. Ran unopposed in November 2003. Successfully won the election in November 2006. Current term ends December 31, 2009.
Division Boundaries: All lands in Jackson County and lands lying east of the following line: Beginning at the West right of way line of the Grants Pass Parkway and the South bank of the Rogue River; thence South along said right of way line to the intersection of the West right of way line of Parkdale Drive; thence continue Southerly along said right of way line to the intersection of the West right of way line of Gaffney Way; thence continue South to the South right of way of Grandview Avenue; thence West along the Southerly right of way of Grandview Avenue to the intersection of the West right of way line of Sky Crest Drive; thence South along the said right of way line to the District boundary.
Division #2: Jim Ford, Grants Pass, Oregon
Occupation: Retired heavy equipment owner and operator.
Chairperson: Pump Installation Committee.
Elected to the Board of Directors in November 2004. Re-elected in November 2007. Current term ends December 31, 2010.
Division Boundaries: From the Josephine-Jackson County line, west to 6th Street, north of the Rogue River.
Division #3: Phil Kudlac, Grants Pass, Oregon
Occupation: Farms and ranches over 88 acres in Josephine County.
Chairperson: Finance Committee
Appointed November 8, 2005 for one year. Ran unopposed in November 2006. Appointed in January 2009 for one year. Current term ends December 31, 2009.
Division Boundaries: Those lands located north of the Rogue River, from 6th Street west to the end of the system.
Division #4: Tom Hart, Grants Pass, Oregon
Occupation: Hart's Jewelers, retired
Chairperson: Physical Facilities Committee
Elected in November 2002 to complete the term. Ran unopposed in November 2004, and again in 2007. Current term ends December 31, 2010.
Division Boundaries:Those lands lying south of the Rogue River & north of Hwy. 199, from 6th Street west to the end of the system.
Division #5: Bert Doshier, Grants Pass, Oregon
Occupation: Retired police officer
Chairperson: Chairman of the Board of Directors
Elected to the Board of Directors in November 2000. Ran unopposed in November 2003 and again in 2006. Current term ends December 31, 2009.
Division Boundaries:All lands on the south side of the Rogue River, West of the following line: Beginning at the West right of way line of the Grants Pass Parkway and the South bank of the Rogue River; thence South along said right of way line to the intersection of the West right of way line of Parkdale Drive; thence continue Southerly along said right of way line to the intersection of the West right of way line of Gaffney Way; thence continue South to the South right of way of Grandview Avenue; thence West along the Southerly right of way of Grandview Avenue to the intersection of the West right of way line of Sky Crest Drive; thence South along the said right of way line to the District boundary.
Secretary/Manager: Dan Shepard, Grants Pass, Oregon
Dan Shepard is the current manager. He was re-hired in 2007. Dan was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1990. At that time he was a dairyman in the New Hope Road area. He resigned in 1993 when he was hired as the Manager of the District and appointed as the Secretary of the Board of Directors. Dan moved to Grants Pass as a small child and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1965. Currently, Dan irrigates over 5 acres in the Sand Creek area.
