GRANTS PASS IRRIGATION DISTRICT NOMINATION PETITIONS AVAILABLE FOR DIRECTOR POSITION
An election will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, to choose a director for Division #1, #4 and #5. The deadline for submitting a petition to the District Office is 3:00 p.m. October 8, 2024. For more information, please call the District Office at 541-476-2582. Nomination petitions may be picked up at the District Office at 200 Fruitdale Drive, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This year, the election will be conducted by mail-in ballot. If two or more valid nomination petitions are accepted by the deadline for a director, ballots will be mailed out beginning October 23rd and must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on election day, November 12, 2024. Postmarks cannot be accepted.
To be eligible, a candidate must own land within Division #1, #4 or # 5, be a resident of the State of Oregon, and be at least 18 years old.
The boundaries for Division #1: All lands within the district boundary within Jackson County, Oregon, and continuing West to the intersection of the south bank of the Rogue River and the Grants Pass Parkway, continuing to the intersection of the Grants Pass Parkway and the west right of way line of Parkdale Drive; thence south to the northerly intersection of Fruitdale Drive; thence easterly to the intersection of Gaffney Way; thence along said West line of Gaffney Way to the intersection of the South line of Thelma Way; thence west to the East line of Skycrest Drive; thence south to the established boundary of the Grants Pass Irrigation District. The elected candidate will serve a 3-year term beginning January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2027.
The boundaries for Division #4: All lands within the district boundary from 6th Street, south of the Rogue River and north of Hwy 199 (Redwood Hwy), west to the district boundary near the Applegate River. The elected candidate will serve a 3-year term beginning January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2027.
The boundaries for Division #5 All lands within the district boundaries lying west of the following line and south of Hwy 199: beginning at the intersection of the south bank of the Rogue River and the Grants Pass Parkway; thence southerly to the intersection of the Grants Pass Parkway and the west right of way line of Parkdale Drive; thence south to the northerly intersection of Fruitdale Drive; thence easterly to the intersection of Gaffney Way: thence south to the intersection of Grandview Avenue; thence west to Skycrest Drive; thence south to the established boundary of the Grants Pass Irrigation District. The elected candidate will serve a 3-year term beginning January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2027.
