5/8/24- UPDATE – Irrigation 2024

The pumps were started on Monday, April 29th as planned. Please see the following update for your area:

TOKAY CANAL- SHUT DOWN-

UPDATE: 5/7/24-The repairs were completed much quicker than anticipated! Providing the shotcrete cures quickly, we expect to start flushing the Tokay Canal Thursday morning. Please continue to be patient and refrain from using the water or opening valves right away, as this will take a couple days to remove debris from open ditches.

This canal had a major blowout that was affecting I5, therefore we had to shut it down. There will be an emergency repair on this canal starting Tuesday, May 7th. Although it could be sooner, we anticipate starting to flush this canal out after the repair early next week.

This includes the majority of lands within the district boundary north (NW Grants Pass) of the Rogue River to the East of Grants Pass approximately 4410 Foothill Blvd-

**Please see below the lands that this doesn’t include

ROGUE RIVER/EVANS CREEK- SHUT DOWN-

UPDATE: 5/7/24-The repair has been completed! We expect to start flushing the Rogue River/Evans Creek ditch Thursday morning. Please continue to be patient and refrain from using the water or opening valves right away, as this will take a couple days to remove debris from open ditches.

This lateral was being flushed out to Rogue River until an irrigation box began leaking and eroding the road. It was shut down, and the repair is being made. We anticipate starting to flush into Rogue River early next week.

This includes all lands from approximately from 4410 Foothill Blvd South to the entire town of Rogue River.

HIGHLINE AND GRAVITY CANAL- FLUSHING-

The Highline and Gravity ditches are still being flushed out.

This includes lands South of the River from the Savage Creek Pump Station going South on Rogue River Hwy and all property North of the Savage Rapids Pump Station to Redwood Ave, Redwood Hwy, Jerome Prairie and out to the Helms Rd. area are still being flushed out. We anticipate starting to open valves this week.

**HILLSIDE LATERAL- FLUSHING-

The Hillside Lateral is waiting to be flushed. We expect to start that flush in the next couple days.

This lateral includes lands from North side the Rogue River at the Caveman Bridge, North to 6th Street at the US Post Office, West of 6th Street to the district boundary at approximately the 4000 block of Upper River Road and all lands to back to South to the North side of the Rogue River.

Unfortunately, the district is starting the season down 3 field employees this season. The employees who we do have left are working diligently to get the repairs made and canals flushed as quickly as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. We undoubtedly will be up and running soon. We will continue to update this post.
